Wholesale Clothing, Tips for Retailers

When clothing arrives from your wholesaler, chances are many will have
wrinkles. This is unavoidable because of storage, shipping and handling.
Most if not all retail stores, fleamarketers and ebayers have some type of
steamer on hand.
A hand held steamer can cost as little as $25.00. A commercial steamer up
to $300.00.
Ebay would be the best place to shop for a steamer.

Most of your wholesale clothing will have manufacturers suggested retail
price on the tags. Use this amount for a standard of worth.
Some retailers will sell for this price that is on the attached tag, and lower
prices after a couple of weeks.
However, most of our customers tell us that they immediately put a 50% off
price on all of our clothing, selling, most out in a shorter time span, still
making 100 to 300% profits.

You, the retailer have to put up with it, a necessary evil.

The Perfume Lady
The perfume lady. Oh yes, she must splash her whole body with that stuff,
before coming into your space and filling it with what she thinks is her
wondrous scent. She will try on clothes and guess what? They too will reek
of her splash on scent.
Now, what to do. First get the contaminated perfumed clothing away from
the rest of the garments. Spray with a neutral deodorizer, and air out.
You may have to do this more than once depending on what skunk oil she
used.
Then you can put the garment back with the other clothing and pray that
the next perfume lady buys what she tries on.

The Make-Up Lady
Here she comes, the caked on makeup lady that you are sure works as a
clown in a circus. How she loves to bury her face in the clothing she tries
on.
While visiting a high end retail store, I found the manager in the back
removing a cosmetic stain from a $95.00 dress that was tried on. The stain
was removed and returned to the rack.
There is a commercial stain remover on the market that works very well,
however it has a very strong odor of moth balls. Do not use this product, I
repeat do not use. In no time at all your retail space and the surrounding
clothing will reek of mothballs.
Wall Mart or kMart sell good stain removers that will not leave a lasting
scent on the clothing.

After visiting high-end retail stores over the last 40 years this is what i
have spotted in their repair corner. A steamer, neutral deodorizer, various
spot removers. One I have seen more than others is Goo-Gone it
eliminates greasy, sticky problems and gum. Follow directions on the
bottle.
